We are delighted to hold the first of what we hope will be many Pudding Nights here at Bodenham! From 6.30pm – 9.30pm our chefs will be delivering their very best desserts!*

Savoury starters, choose one of the following: Garlic Mushrooms, Bruschetta, Vegetable Soup, Smoked Pâté, Tempura Battered Black Pudding.

Then enjoy as much as you want of the following:….
From the Cold Counter: Eton Mess, Chocolate & Cherry Roulade, Honey & Ginger Cheesecake, Prosecco Jelly, Key Lime Pie; and from the Hot Counter: Apple Pie, Spotted Dick, Giant Jaffa Cake, Sticky Toffee Tower, Salted Caramel Tart

Mindful Movement & Walking at Bodenham Arboretum

Revive the body, mind and spirit through Mindful Movement and Walking, taking in the nature and beauty of Bodenham Arboretum.

£10.00 per session – 1½ hrs, includes day pass to the Arboretum.

Late Night Dining Returns

Longer days and lighter nights mean late night dining at Bodenham! From Thursday 3rd May our Restaurant will be serving dinner from 5.30 – 7.30pm every Thursday evening until the end of September.

Carole Lacy introduces ‘Mindfulness’ to anyone who may be wondering what mindfulness practice is all about and what it might involve.

Family Yoga at Bodenham

A lovely yoga workshop for the family which will be hosted by Rebecca Yoga Fae, a kind and open-hearted teacher who has so many years of experience working with children. Inspiring children to be creative through movement and imagination.
 
The family yoga workshop is a chance for you to spend valuable time together and take a journey through yoga. Not only will you learn about the benefits it has for you and your child but it is an opportunity to take away some ideas to continue within a home environment.
 
It is Rebecca’s aim as a teacher to facilitate a fun and rewarding session where we can use yoga through play and story time. During the session you will also work on mindful breathing exercises and end with a relaxation visualisation.
 
2.30 – 4.00pm
£12.00 for an adult and child, £3 per additional child each workskhop – book in advance by calling the Visitor Centre on 01562 852444. Another Workshop is running on Sat 9th June.

Open Air Yoga with Victoria Waits

Enjoy yoga in the open air, exploring the body and opening the mind. The session is open to all levels of experience, whether you have never done yoga before or are an experienced practitioner. Enjoying an open flow and open hearted practice in the beautiful grounds of Bodenham Arboretum. Guided by yoga teacher Victoria Waits you will be taken on a journey gaining knowledge about the body, how it moves and how you can help release tension and stress. Increase your self awareness and well being, build strength and flexibility. Learn to relax.

This is the first workshop of many, each workshop will be every two weeks and will be focused on different areas within the body.
Each time you come along to a session you will gain information which will enable you to take this experience home and learn to heal your body in your personal practice and adjust it to your own bodies needs.

Pencil & Watercolour Workshop

Come down to Bodenham Arboretum and unleash your inner artist with the help of local artist Daphne Millington. Learn new skills using pencils and / or watercolours to create your very own masterpiece.

We ask that you please bring a HB pencil + a selection of coloured pencils, putty rubber and smooth paper if you’re sticking to the pencil drawing; if you prefer using watercolours please bring along your own paints and brushes – however we will have some spare if you’re unable to get hold of all of these.

The day also includes morning tea or coffee with cake, homemade meat plaits with a selection of delicious salads and a scrumptious homemade dessert and finish the day off with the Bodenham afternoon cream tea.

Time: 10am – 4pm

Following the success of her previous workshops of Introduction into Mindfulness and Silence and Stillness, Karen Lord MCMA*, now takes Mindfulness Meditation into the grounds of the Arboretum with this 2-hour Workshop.
 
Sitting surrounded by nature you will experience the benefits of Mindfulness Meditation enhanced by the beautiful gardens and trees of Bodenham Arboretum.
 
This can be for beginners or for those who wish to meditate as part of a group, whilst enjoying the benefits of being outside surrounded by nature.
 
The workshop will take place outside sitting on mats and cushions (these will be provided) and will cover: –

Wed 28th March – Sun 15th April –  The Bodenham Easter Trail

Easter just would not be complete without Easter Bunnies and Easter Eggs! Follow the clues that the Easter Bunny has left around the Big Pool…find the hidden letters which when put together make up a key word…fill in your competition entry form with the word that you believe is made up from the letters and you can claim a prize from the Visitor Centre.

The Easter Trail is included in normal admission into the Grounds.

Wilderness Explorers, run by The World Outside Forest School gives children the opportunity to experience and explore nature in the beautiful woodland setting of Bodenham Arboretum. In a safe and secure environment children can enjoy bushcraft and other forest school type activities, including den building, mud kitchen, campfire cooking and natural arts and crafts.

Sat 10th March, An Evening of Delectable Terror! Ghost Stories & Supper!

We invite you to take your seat overlooking the misty, shadowy lake at Bodenham Arboretum in our candle-lit Restaurant. Get yourself comfortable and prepare to be terrified by the tales from ‘The Librarian.’

Alan Birch, star of David Tristram’s ‘Inspector Drake’ movies, brings the character of the Librarian to chilling life as he reads two of local author A.G Smith’s bone-rattling ghost stories. Last year saw the show tour the Midlands and London, gaining 5* reviews.

7.30pm: Reading 1 – ‘Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.’ – A young babysitter spends the evening in an old farmhouse that holds a sinister secret.
7.45pm: Supper will be served.
8.45pm: Reading 2 – ‘An Unwise Purchase.’ All antiques come with a history….some more dreadful than others.

Supper: Choose from Lamb Tagine, Beef Hotpot or Pork in Apple and Cider, served with rice and crusty bread. A Vegetarian option will also be available, plus we will gladly cater for anyone with special dietary requirements. A bar will also be open.

Karen will guide you through the basics from breathing, concentration, observation and awareness of the physical self, through to intention and ideas for home practice.

Sun 7th January, Bodenham Bound 10k Charity run in aid of Barnardo’s

What better way  great to start 2018?! A 10km (2 x 5km laps) multi terrain charity run, in aid of Barnardo’s, through the grounds of Bodenham Arboretum.

The Arboretum is situated in the convergence of three valleys, so there will be challenging hills and definitely plenty of mud, in addition to a few hard surfaces, as you run the boundary of the arboretum. You will get muddy! You will get wet! YOU WILL HAVE FUN!

All abilities welcome, over 18s only, spaces limited to 200.

Entry fee: £12 online £15 on the day (before 8.30am/Cash only) – on the day entries are subject to availability.

Come down to Bodenham this evening and enjoy singing along to traditional Christmas Carols in the farmyard surrounded by the Nativity Scene. Food being served before and after the service in the Visitor Centre.

Something for all the family. Follow the stars and answer the Christmas questions as you go before reaching the LIVE Nativity Scene in the barn buildings; you may even be lucky enough to see an new born baby donkey.

Once all the questions are answered bring it back to the Visitor Centre and post it in the letter box so that it can be scored to see if you win the prize. The winners will be announced at the end of the Christmas Season.

Nativity Trail included in normal admission into the grounds.

1st – 26th December (excluding 24th & 25th) Christmas Lunches

From the 1st of December Bodenham will be serving Christmas Lunches until Boxing Day. Begin with a starter and choose from Traditional Prawn Cocktail, Pâté of the Day, Sinful Mushrooms, Waldorf Salad or Homemade Vegetable Soup. For the main event the Bodenham Christmas Carvery with ALL the trimmings. Finish off with a homemade dessert of your choice from the menu and a cup of tea or coffee with chocolate mints.

7th, 14th, and 21st December Christmas Evenings

Every Thursday in December, before Christmas Day, we open late for Christmas Evening Meals. On arrival you will be greeted with a glass of complimentary mulled wine. Once seated start your meal with on of the Homemade Bodenham Starters choosing from Traditional Prawn Cocktail, Pâté of the Day, Sinful Mushrooms, Waldorf Salad, Homemade Vegetable Soup or Smoked Salmon. For the main event the Bodenham Christmas Carvery with ALL the trimmings. Come down to Bodenham Arboretum and unleash your inner artist with the help of local artist Daphne Millington. Learn new skills using pencils and watercolours to create your very own masterpiece. The day also includes morning tea or coffee with cake, The Bodenham Carvery and a delicious homemade dessert and finish the day off with the Bodenham afternoon cream tea.

Get dressed up this Halloween weekend and come down to Bodenham Arboretum for the Torch lit Pumpkin Walk. Follow the pumpkins around the Big Pool and look for those with letters carved into them to unscramble to make the Halloween word. Join in the fun and get involved in apple bobbing, spooky story telling, toasting marshmallows, Halloween crafts and bring your very own carved pumpkin so it can be judged for your chance to win a prize.

Homemade pumpkin soup and jacket potatoes with a selection of fillings will be served throughout the evenings for you to purchase along with refreshments.

8th October Droitwich Model Boat Club

Enjoy watching hand crafted model boats sail on the Big Pool. Here from 11am until 5pm you can ask the sailors questions and have a good look at some of their boats. The club regularly sails at Worcester County Hall and Top Barn Farm but they always come down to Bodenham twice a year for you to share the experience.

23rd – 24th September Svartland Viking Weekend

Come down to Bodenham and experience the life of a Viking where you’ll get to see the different crafts, skills, games, pastimes and combat displays. All the Svartland members are very friendly and approachable and love to talk to people and share their knowledge of the Viking Age.

Normal admission charges apply to go into the grounds.

16th September Fun Dog Show & Fete! 11am – 3.00pm

We do hope you can pop down to support the wonderful work that the Hall Green Greyhound Trust carries out!  This promises to be a great family day out!

Bring your four-legged friends of course and enter the competitions – lots of categories, with prizes and trophies galore! All breeds and capabilities welcome! There will hopefully also be some participants looking for their forever homes…can they win you over?? Add to all of this a fun fete and you can expect a great little family day out!

FREE Entrance to the Dog Show, however if you wish to tour the Arboretum then normal admission fees apply.
There is no fee to enter the Visitor Centre / Restaurant.

2nd September Plant Hunters’ Fairs

FREE admission into the Plant Fair. Top specialist nurseries with thousands of plants to choose from. Each stall has it’s own unique range of plants including rare, unusual, heritage and brand new varieties. There is something for every garden.

Normal admission applies into the grounds.

12th August – Hall Green Greyhound Trust Summer Eve Walk & Arboretum Tour

Come and join the Trust staff and some of their dogs for a guided summer evening tour around the Arboretum. Bring your own dog too – but please remember they must be kept on a lead at all times!

At 7.00pm we will be entertained with music from ‘Third from the Right’ Musical Productions. The Visitor Centre will be open for refreshments and jacket potatoes! You will also have the opportunity to meet some of the hounds who are up for adoption.

Admission is FREE for this event (normally £6.50) however we please ask that everyone makes a donation to the charity which will go towards helping all the hounds in their care.

22nd July – 3rd September BodenGnome Hunt

Fun for ALL the family, come down to Bodenham Arboretum this summer and hunt out the BodenGnomes around the Poplar Dingle. Search high and low in the trees and on the ground for the Gnomes with the letters to make the hidden word. Once completed bring it back to the visitor centre and post in the box and claim your prize. The overall winner will be contacted at the end of the summer and get their hands on the BodenGnome Trophy.

The BodenGnome Hunt is included in normal admission into the Grounds.
